These alien insects have hands. They can readily stand on the four hind legs only, but still require all six to walk, making the hands unable to carry anything. They carry with their mouths. However, they are good for manipulating objects while stationary. These insects show rudimentary intelligence and the beginnings of technology. They teach their young how to build nests, tie knots, and clean. They build their nests on the ground. Often, larger animals will bring a gift of food or building supplies too large to carry in their mouths to an Arugi nest. Understanding at some level that more will be offered if they serve the animal, they happily follow it to its lair (or ride on it) to clean out any vermin, parasites, mold, and dust. The Arugi are the largest insects on their homeworld, often reaching 6-8 inches long. They eat both meat and vegetables, but are somewhat picky.
