Rabbits: I read Watership Down by Richard Adams, a story of adventure, pioneering, and faith from the point of view of a band of rabbits. While they differ from humans in a few respects – such as not being able to count above four – these rabbits are able to plan ahead, reason from analogy, and have oral history, jokes, poetry, and formal government. Still, it was rather enjoyable.
Eggs: Bored with eggs for breakfast, I decided to make a curry gravy to pour over them. In the picture, I placed two fried eggs on a piece of toast and covered them in the gravy. To the side is a tiny piece of leftover ham and a piece of cheese I was going to melt in the gravy, but it didn’t work out that way. I think I used too much flour and not enough salt, but it was edible.
In other news, I saw at the gas station that Starbucks now has smores-flavored chilled coffee. It was very good, though still not as good as McDonald’s caramel iced coffee or Starbucks mocha. Later in the month, I was near a Walgreens and thought to check inside if they had any smores coffee there. Unfortunately, they did not, but they did have gingerbread-flavor – also delicious.
