My name is Daniel Noe. I am very creative, but apparently lack executive skills. Over the years, I have had many ideas that went nowhere, but not because the world didn’t want them. Instead, I was unable to get them out in front of people, or else I was unable to fully develop them in the first place.
In the past, I have developed a business card directory, a car dealer directory, an educational blog directory, a local business feature blog, a news aggregation site, and written part of a comedy movie. I no longer have interest in these. I also tried to start a secret society of meme propaganda, but nobody I knew was interested. I’ve also thought of starting a YouTube channel on political discussion, philosophical discussion, hot sauce reviews, or comedy skits, but could find no one with the time to partner with me. Recently, I attempted to go it alone putting travel and philosophy videos on YouTube, but ran into several insurmountable obstacles, including lack of a quiet place, file size limits, editing nightmares, and malfunctioning equipment. Video was never my element anyways. One of my biggest problems is time, and my biggest time consumer is my job and the wacky sleep schedule I have been forced into because of conflicts between my job and home life. Either my job or my home could be changed with enough money. Money is my biggest problem. My current interests include:
The Friendship Project:
I’d like to spread friendship and normalize the idea of talking to strangers and checking on neighbors. The internet is rigged. Every algorithm is designed to keep you online where advertisers can get to you. People are grouped with others that reinforce their prejudices instead of challenging them. Certain strains of thought are suppressed. Maybe you’d like to start your own group or simply do what I’m doing by talking to strangers one at a time. Let’s talk.
New Church:
While there’s nothing wrong with my current church, I have some ideas for church that I wish were more common. Read about these ideas here and let me know if you can make this happen.
Redemption Narratives:
I’d like to make people feel good about themselves and their lives by interviewing them, distilling their story down to the essentials, and writing a fictional story based on them. I’d like to talk to the depressed, the disabled, and the elderly, and give them the new identity of a crime-fighting superhero with superpowers. These stories (with changed names) could later be collected into a book. Would you like to write stories about others? Would you like to write your own story?
The Understanding Project:
I’d like to satisfy my curiosity by interviewing those of different political persuasions and learning how it was that they came to the conclusions they did, and how they came to deem some news sources more reliable than others. It has always been utterly baffling to me why others don’t see the world the way I do. Getting to the truth could also be part of their superhero story and being a failed activist can give us something to bond over. If successful in understanding where people are coming from, I might put my findings in a book that will help others to be more patient with those on the other side.
Shared Universe Writers’ Club:
I think it would be fun to collaborate with other writers by building off of each other’s work, writing separate stories but taking place in the same universe and with overlapping characters. Any contradictions can be explained away after the fact with enough imagination. We could learn from each other, promote each other, and the exercise in imagination should be helpful to increase our capacity for tolerance and empathy. We could even write ourselves into the stories and thus fold The Redemption Narratives and The Understanding Project into the Shared Universe. We could each have superhero nicknames and god-like powers to alter reality through the fourth wall (since we are writers as well as characters). In the future, some of us might run bookstores that sell shirts, art, and other merchandise with in-universe characters. I am too busy writing Champion of The Cosmos, Flora and Fauna of The Universe, and Charting Possibilities right now to set this up or take a leadership role, but let me know if you do it.
Champion Of The Cosmos:
My dream since 1995 has been to write a science fiction series, but I have run into many obstacles. I am finally posting my ideas as short stories at this blog. They will later be collected into books. I need readers and feedback. I need help promoting the series. Subscribing at eight dollars per month for additional content will also help me a lot.
In the future, I already have plans on how to incorporate any fan fiction of the series into cannon by means of a temporal-flux effect. Write any fan fiction? Let me know.
Featuring the same main character as Champion of The Cosmos, I have already published one science fiction book, The Spider, The Witch, And The Spaceship, available on Amazon. I need readers and reviews.
Charting Possibilities:
I want to inform people of good news and remind them that not all news is bad. I’d like to report on new technologies, businesses, or interesting science or art. This requires a bit of research. I wish I had more time. Maybe you could do it.
In the meantime, I am posting humorous, upbeat accounts of my adventures to nature parks to my other blog. By so doing, I illustrate by example how to have fun in all situations and I highlight the beauty of the natural world. I wish I had more time to visit parks.
I also post reports on books I read. Books are adventures too. I read non-fiction books about new ideas and old history. I have a long list of books I still need to buy and no time to read them.
I also post poetry, drawings (some of which are on shirts in the store), and musings and observations on philosophy, science, culture, politics, and religion. I need readers and subscribers.
On the same blog, I also post excerpts from my books on politics, spirituality, and the time I lived with my grandfather for three years (Living With Gramps). I need readers.
Political Activism:
I have given up on politics. The problems we face are not institutional or educational, but problems of the heart, and the only one who can fix hearts is the one who invented them. There is nothing I can do, but for my own entertainment guided by the spirit of the creator I might still be interested in promoting the following ideas:
Authority is a social construct that only exists if we believe in it. All government is violent by definition. Government exists to attract the evilest people out from among us and learn from them what not to do. Just as there is a way to pervert any good policy, there is a way to redeem any bad policy, making it better than it ever would have been if it were never perverted, and making everyone happy including our enemies. Outsmarting our enemies requires each of us to be doing our own thing, following different policies at different times; only supernatural guidance can make it work. You already hear from God, and I can show you how to recognize his voice. Within limits, I also support deregulation, free speech, election integrity, and logical jurisprudence. Are you running for office? Let’s talk.
These are some of the ideas in my books, The Nutcase Across The Street, Why Civility Failed, The End Of Government, No Longer I Who Live, and When Nothing Seems To Work. I need ways to promote these books. I need podcast interviews.
I also used to keep a blog where I broke down news stories and sifted through them to determine what must be true and what must be lies. I can teach you how to do this. Unfortunately, the only way I could spend time on this now is if I were a guest on someone else’s podcast or if I was paid enough to quit my current job.
Your Project:
What are you working on? Are you an artist? Are you a writer? Do you need beta readers or reviews? How do you promote yourself? Let’s talk.
